Scheme of Examination: Computer Based Examination:
The Computer based examination will consist of one objective type paper containing 80 questions carrying 2 marks each, with the following composition:
The syllabus for the Examination will be as follows:
1. General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of non-verbal type.
This component may include questions on:
1. Analogies
2. Similarities and Differences
3. Spatial Visualization
4. Spatial Orientation
5. Visual Memory
6. Discrimination
7. Observation
8. Relationship Concept
9. Arithmetical Reasoning and Figural Classification
10. Arithmetic Number Series
11. Non-Verbal Series
12. Coding and Decoding
2. General Knowledge and General Awareness:
Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person.
The test will also include questions relating to:
1. India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to sports
2. History
3. Culture
4. Geography
5. Economic Scene
6. General Polity
7. Indian Constitution
8. Scientific Research
3. Elementary Mathematics:
This paper will include questions on problems relating to:
1. Number Systems
2. Computation of Whole Numbers
3. Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers
4. Fundamental arithmetical operations
5. Percentages
6. Ratio and Proportion
7. Averages
8. Interest
9. Profit and Loss
10. Discount
11. Mensuration
12. Time and Distance
13. Ratio and Time
14. Time and Work
4. English/ Hindi: Candidates’ ability to understand basic English/ Hindi and his basic comprehension would be tested.
